about the scheme
Bihar Shatabdi Private Tube Well Scheme is an important scheme of Bihar Government.
It was started in the year 2011 for the farmers of Bihar.
More than 80 percent of the population of Bihar earns its living from agriculture.
Most of the farmers depend on monsoon for irrigation of agricultural land.
Due to lack of any other means of irrigation, farmers had to suffer crop losses.
Keeping all this in mind, Bihar Shatabdi Private Tube Well Scheme was started by the Bihar Government.
Under this scheme, farmers of the state will be provided grants for installing tube wells on their lands.
The grant will be given only for installing tube wells of shallow depth (up to 70 meters) and medium depth (up to 70 to 100 meters).
For shallow tube wells, a grant of up to Rs 15,000/- or Rs 100 per foot or Rs 328 per meter will be given for boring.
For medium depth tube well, grant for boring up to Rs 35,000/- or Rs 182 per foot or Rs 597 per meter will be given.
Apart from this, the beneficiary will be given a grant of 50 percent of the price of motor pump set or a maximum of Rs 10,000/- whichever is less.
The grant will be paid only after burying the boring and purchasing the pump set.
It is mandatory to select 16 percent Scheduled Caste and 1 percent Scheduled Tribe farmers in every district.

The farmer should have minimum 0.40 acre i.e. 40 decimal agricultural land.
A farmer will be given a grant for only one tube well.

Documents required to avail benefits
The following documents will be uploaded online to get the grant of Bihar Shatabdi Private Tube Well Scheme:-
Land holding certificate/updated receipt.
Certificate of no boring before.
Certificate of not taking assistance for tube well from anywhere else.

how to apply
The farmer will first have to go to the official website of Bihar Shatabdi Private Tube Well Scheme.
You have to click on apply on the website.
Once the application form is opened, the farmer will have to fill the required details.
It is necessary to have agricultural registration number, area of land, and land ownership certificate in the details.
The farmer will also have to upload the above documents on the portal.
After uploading all the details and documents, the farmer will have to submit the application.
After the application is submitted, the registration number will be allotted to the farmer.
After that the executive engineer will inspect the boring site.
It is mandatory to complete the investigation within 15 days and approve the application.
In case the application is approved, the farmer will be informed through message on his mobile.
Download the accepted letter and keep it safe with you.
The farmer is required to bury the boring within 45 days of the application being approved.

Grant Claim Process
After burying the boring, the farmer will have to claim for the grant.
To make claim, the farmer will have to again visit the portal of Bihar Shatabdi Private Tube Well Scheme.
You have to click on upload claim in the portal.
After that, the registration number of the application form and documents related to purchase of boring and pump set will have to be uploaded.
The claim will be investigated by the Executive Engineer within 15 days.
After the investigation is completed and the claim is found correct, it will be transferred to the farmer’s account through DBT within a week.
